Crystal Palace consider Frank de Boer replacement

Sources indicate Crystal Palace are considering the replacement of manager Frank de Boer after the Eagles suffered their second loss of the young English Premier League season.  De Boer was hired to replace Sam Allardyce after the Englishman retired following the 2016-17 season, but has found life in the English top-flight extremely difficult.

De Boer has found life in the English Premier League very difficult as his team have been held scoreless in the first two weeks of the season. Although some a speculating he could be replaced sooner rather than later, the Sun has reported his job is safe for now. Speculation over De Boer’s sacking has been fuelled by bookmakers installing him as the favourite to be the first Premier League manager to be sacked this term.

The club have given up four goals in two matches thus far, while being shut out by Huddersfield and Liverpool in consecutive weeks. Crystal Palace aren’t the only team in the Premier League to go two matches without a goal this term. Currently, five Premier League teams have failed to score in their first two matches.

De Boer was in charge of Inter Milan at the beginning of last season, but only lasted 85 days as the Nerazzurri’s manager.

In a recent interview on Sky Sports’,  Simon Jordan spoke about De Boer changing the culture at Crystal Palace and his appointment being a risky move by the Eagles’ board.

Frank De Boer currently leads all Premier League managers in the sack race at odds of 2/1.
