Gameweek 18 midfield players are a group you must lock down for your Fantasy Premier League team. Whether you are looking for a fleet footed winger or a goal scoring central midfielder, there are plenty of great selections for you gameweek 18 midfield.

Alexis Sanchez continues to lead all midfielders heading into this week’s action, but does he still make the FantasySports.co.uk top five midfielders list?

Sadio Mane – Liverpool

Games: 16; Goals: 8; Total FPL points: 102

Sadio Mane continues to be one of Liverpool’s most outstanding players this term. The midfielder scored in last weekend’s Merseyside derby, gathering in 10 points.

Gameweek 18 marks Liverpool’s last “easy” game as the Reds will face some of the Premier League’s best from the end of December through March.

Despite the difficult fixture list upcoming, Mane is a perfect choice as a gameweek 18 midfield maestro.

Theo Walcott – Arsenal

Games: 16; Goals: 8; Total FPL points: 90

Theo Walcott is arguably having his best Premier League season ever. The gameweek 18 midfield choice continues to score goals and tally points.

Despite many Gunners’ fans believing Walcott has done little overall this season, Fantasy Premier League managers know better.

At £7.8 million to buy, Walcott is still price efficient for fantasy managers.

Kevin De Bruyne – Manchester City

Games: 16; Assists: 11; Total FPL points: 87

Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester City are so up and down right now it is hard to decide if he is worth a place in your fantasy team.

Sure, De Bruyne has the most assists of anyone in FPL, but has he been consistent enough to be a weekly selection? The answer is no.

Gameweek 16 and 17 were decent weeks for the Belgian, however. In his last two games, De Bruyne is averaging just 6.5 points.

It may not be scintillating form, but this week’s fixture against Hull should see City dominate. It also means De Bruyne is worth a spot as a gameweek 18 midfield player in your team.

Dele Alli – Tottenham

Games: 16; Goals: 4; Total FPL points: 71

A gameweek 18 midfield player begging for selection is Dele Alli. The Tottenham ace tallied nine points last weekend, his best performance in four games.

While Alli hasn’t blown away the opposition in FPL this term, his potential makes him a top choice.

This gameweek sees Spurs take on Southampton with Watford to follow. It is a good two weeks to get him in your side.

Alexis Sanchez – Arsenal

Games: 17; Goals: 12; Total FPL points: 127

Whether he is assisting goals or scoring them, Alexis Sanchez continues to get into our top five midfielders list.

The Chilean continues to thrive in Arsene Wenger’s team, even if Arsenal have lost their last two matches.

If you can afford him, Sanchez is the only gameweek 18 midfield player you need to buy. His stellar play has him top of the heap.

Arsenal’s next six matches should be three points each day out. Sanchez will continue to show why he is the best of the best in FPL this season during the six match stretch.

If you’ve got him in your side, you should see massive wins.
