Gameweek 21 forwards for goals galore

premier league, fantasy football, fpl, fantasy sports

Gameweek 21 forwards will have a week off of Premier League action. This weekend’s FA Cup matches will either give your FPL forwards a chance to rest; or a chance to stretch themselves a little thinner.

Gameweek 21 forwards will see action on January 14, but let’s look at who is in-form and ready to plunder goals with a week to prepare.

Who gets into our gameweek 21 forwards list? Let’s find out!

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Manchester United

Games: 19; Goals: 13; Total FPL points: 123

Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues to be the most in-form forward in FPL. The Swede has been on an extreme tear as of late.

Not only has he been scoring points, but he has pulled level with Diego Costa as the top forward in FPL.

Fantasy managers who held on to Ibrahimovic during his lean weeks have been rewarded with great returns.

Sure, Manchester United play Liverpool next, but with the Swede’s form, he is worth playing against Liverpool’s suspect defence.

Jermain Defoe – Sunderland

Games: 20; Goals: 11; Total FPL points: 113

Speaking of tears, Jermaine Defoe has been nearly as good as Ibrahimovic over the last few weeks. Like the Swede, if you stuck with Defoe during his down weeks, you’re being rewarded now.

Sunderland are a point away from safety and Defoe’s goal scoring proficiency has been the reason for it. Sunderland have winnable – or capable of drawing – matches up next.

Stoke and West Brom are to come, and Defoe is a must inclusion as one of your gameweek 21 forwards.

Romelu Lukaku – Everton

Games: 19; Goals: 11; Total FPL points: 110

Romelu Lukaku has turned it up again. Last weekend’s performance against Southampton netted the forward 11 points.

Like the two previous on our list, if you stuck with Lukaku you’re reaping the rewards. Get the Belgian in as one of your gameweek 21 forwards if you can afford him.

But be aware, Everton play Manchester City next. Lukaku maybe an alternative to some of the other players on this list.

Diego Costa – Chelsea

Games: 19; Goals: 14; Total FPL points: 123

We’d be foolish to leave Diego Costa off our list. The Chelsea forward has been the cream of the crop all season.

Sure, Chelsea just lost their first match in forever, but Costa and company will bounce back.

Gameweek 21 sees the Blues play Leicester, a team they thrashed 3-0 earlier this term. Costa tallied nine points in that fixture.

If the Spaniard is rested in the FA Cup over the weekend, he should score big as one of your gameweek 21 forwards.

Olivier Giroud – Arsenal

Games: 13; Goals: 6; Total FPL points: 63

Olivier Giroud has lacked consistent playing time this season. Thanks to injury, Giroud has missed seven matches already.

In the last three matches, Giroud has finally got a run of games under his belt; playing all 90 minutes in each match.

Giroud has averaged 10 points per game over his last three fixtures. At only £8.6 million, he could be a cheap alternative that is hitting form just at the right time.

Giroud is perfect as a FantasySports.co.uk gameweek 21 forwards member and a player that doesn’t get the respect in the Premier League he deserves.
