Fantasy Premier League Goal Scoring Forwards

premier league, fantasy football, fpl, fantasy sports

Goal scoring forwards were in fine form in gameweek 26. Based on results, FantasySports.co.uk did well in its top 5 selections. Four of our five picks last week got on the score sheet. However, none were as prolific as Harry Kane, who scored a hat-trick in a 20 point performance.

Does Kane get recalled to our top 5 this week? Of course he does, but who joins him?

Harry Kane – Tottenham

Games: 21; Goals: 17; Total FPL points: 139

Harry Kane was tremendous last weekend against Stoke as he scored three times and picked up an assist. This weekend, Spurs take on Everton, a team that Kane tallied just two points against last time out.

Regardless, he should be in your team for gameweek 27. Of all the goal scoring forwards in Fantasy Premier League, he is the most in-form.

Romelu Lukaku – Everton

Games: 25; Goals: 17; Total FPL points: 148

The forwards points leader, Romelu Lukaku had a six point performance against Sunderland a week ago. This weekend, Everton play Spurs, a difficult game for both team.

The Belgian missed this fixture early this season, and his recent form has been up and down. Just a few matches back, Lukaku scored 21 points. Can he do that against Spurs? It is doubtful, but he should still get a decent return as one of your goal scoring forwards.

Diego Costa – Chelsea

Games: 24; Goals: 16; Total FPL points: 145

Consistency is the name of the game for Diego Costa. Gameweek 26 was another six point performance for the Spaniard as Chelsea beat Swansea. West Ham, Stoke and Crystal Palace are all to come in the next three fixtures. Costa should continue to steadily score in front of goal.

Sergio Aguero – Manchester City

Games: 19; Goals: 11; Total FPL points: 94

Sergio Aguero has been in poor Fantasy Premier League form in recent gameweeks. Aguero hasn’t scored double-digit points since gameweek 13.

However, Sunderland play host to Manchester City this weekend, and the Black Cats are bottom of the league. Sunderland’s poor defensive performance against Everton last weekend means you should go heavy on Manchester City players, and Aguero is one of those players.

Troy Deeney – Watford

Games: 26; Goals: 8; Total FPL points: 103

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. That is our philosophy this week as Watford’s Troy Deeney makes our top 5 once more. Deeney scored in Watford’s 1-1 draw with West Ham last weekend.

The Hornets take on EFL Cup beaten finalists Southampton in gameweek 27, making Deeney a goal scoring forward that should be picked for your FPL or daily fantasy sports team. The biggest question for the Saints will be if they can stop Deeney after heartbreak at Wembley.
