FPL Gameweek 37 – Forwards Finding Fantasy Form

Last weekend’s big Fantasy Premier League forward performer was Burnley’s Sam Vokes. The bargain attacker tallied 13 points and will cost fantasy managers just £5.6m ahead of this weekend.  Several forwards are finding fantasy form, while one of the biggest names in FPL – Romelu Lukaku – is struggling mightily.

With just a few gameweeks to go, getting that right forward combination can set a fantasy manager apart from the rest of the pack.

FPL Gameweek 37 forwards to buy

Gabriel Jesus – Manchester City

Total FPL points: 37; GW 36: 5 points

Let’s start with a simple one for FPL managers. Gabriel Jesus retains his spot in our top 5 despite tallying just five points in gameweek 36. Manchester City are still without Sergio Aguero (25% chance of playing) and Jesus will fill the void.

Gameweek 37 sees Manchester City clash with Leicester, and fantasy managers have responded by making Jesus the top transfer of the week.

Fernando Llorente – Swansea

Total FPL points: 126; GW 36: 8 points

Fernando Llorente is leading Swansea to possible Premier League survival. The Spaniard is finding his fantasy form and last weekend’s eight point haul against Everton lifted Swansea to 17th in the Premier League.

Swansea face Sunderland and Llorente tormented the already relegated Black Cats the last time the two teams met. The forward netted 13 points and there is no reason he can’t do it all over again. Expect big things from Llorente in the last two gameweeks.

Sam Vokes – Burnley

Total FPL points: 107; GW 36: 13 points

Sam Vokes is a reasonably priced forward in fantasy form right now. His gameweek 36 return of 13 points was his best in 2016-17. Unfortunately, consistency is the reason fantasy managers should think twice about transferring for the Burnley man. If you have a hole in your squad and little cash to fill it with, then Vokes could be your man.

A soft fixture list against Bournemouth and West Ham is another reason to sign the forward. Otherwise, think hard before Vokes joins your team.

Diego Costa – Chelsea

Total FPL points: 190; GW 36: 6 points

Diego Costa has appeared in the FantasySports.co.uk top 5 forwards list for most of the season. He had some dips in fantasy form here and there; but overall, he has been a stalwart in the side.

Six points against Middlesbrough was a modest rebound from a one point match against Everton. The Blues can clinch the Premier League title this weekend, and will want to go out in style. Costa may be on his way to China at the end of the year.

West Brom, Watford and Sunderland are left on the Chelsea hit-list before the season ends. Costa should close out the season strongly.

Christian Benteke – Crystal Palace

Total FPL points: 127; GW 36: 2 points

Christian Benteke’s inclusion is down to potential and potential alone. Crystal Palace play Hull in gameweek 37, and despite lacking fantasy form, Benteke is up against the Premier League’s worst defence. He had a modest six points the last time the two teams played, so anything less will be a major disappointment from the Belgian.
