Arsenal are set to sell attacker Alexis Sanchez to German giants Bayern Munich for a reported £31.7 million. The Gunners will be without Champions League football next season, and the player looks ready to leave one summer before his contract expires.
Arsenal were reportedly offering Sanchez and teammate Mesut Ozil new contracts to keep them at the Emirates, but it looks like the Chilean star will seek his football elsewhere. The Arsenal No. 7 is interested in playing for one of Europe’s elite clubs that regularly have an opportunity to win a clutch of trophies each season, and Bayern fits the bill. Despite being linked to several Premier League teams, Sanchez is reportedly enthusiastic about playing under coach Carlo Ancelotti in Munich.
Bayern are also linked with Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, and could add the Belgian to their ranks as well.
While Bayern are ready to sign Sanchez, the Germans are ready to sell both Douglas Costa and Renato Sanches after neither made an impact with the team last season. Several Premier League clubs are on high alert.
