Liverpool After Real Madrid Striker Karim Benzema, Spanish Media Reports

Here we go again, as it now looks like some journalists in Spain are linking Liverpool with Real Madrid Champions League winning striker Karim Benzema.

According to Spanish media outlet Diario Gol, and reported by a number of English media sources, Benzema’s playing time with Real Madrid will be cut in the coming season due to the emergence of Marco Asensio.

Due to Asensio’s new contract and the youngster’s emergence as a promising young player, Benzema has been linked with Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain. Now it looks like the Reds are on the list of possible suitors, although some see the link as an easy story with little substance.

Liverpool are in the market for players and thus far have been linked with just about every top player in Europe. Liverpool are in talks with Roma over the signing of winger Mohamed Salah and were linked with Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk recently.

Many Liverpool supporters in the media have already rubbished the link to Karim Benzema as the striker’s wages would be far too high. In addition, his style of play does not fit with manager Jurgen Klopp’s football philosophy.
