BREAKING : James Rodriguez makes sensational switch to Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich have clinched the signing of Real Madrid striker James Rodriguez on an initial two year loan deal, with the option to make the signing permanent.

Rodriguez, 25, had been rumoured to be leaving the Bernabeu for a while now, but nothing of substance had materialized, although Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain declared an interest in the Colombian international, who won the Golden Boot in the 2014 World Cup that propelled him to stardom, including a sparkling volley against Uruguay that won the goal of the tournament.

Playing as an out and out forward, attacking midfielder or as a winger, the player’s versatility will suit Bayern Munich after he fell out of favour with Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid, who left him out of the Champions League final squad altogether in May as they beat Juventus.

Rodriguez is undergoing a medical that once completed will finalise the move, and he will join up with his new teammates on their tour of Asia.
