Tottenham Omit £30m Flop Sissoko From US Tour

Tottenham have left £30 million transfer flop Moussa Sissoko out of their preseason squad as the team embarks on a tour of the United States.

The French international arrived at White Hart Lane last summer after impressing at the 2016 European Championships for his home nation. Sissoko had been on the verge of sealing a deal with Everton when he signed a shock deal with Spurs on transfer deadline day from Newcastle.

Sissoko made just eight starts in the English Premier League for Tottenham, while he came off the bench 17 times. He recorded just two assists during the season.

Spurs want to offload the midfielder and his £85,000-a-week salary (£4.4m per year). However, it so far looks like Tottenham are having difficulty shedding themselves of the player due to his wages. Spurs may have to take a major financial hit on the player just to get rid of him this summer.

French side Marseille have been linked with midfielder, but the team have not approach Tottenham with a transfer bid as yet.

Tottenham have also left Heung-Min Son, Erik Lamela and Danny Rose behind as all three recover from injuries. Spurs have still not made a single transfer signing this summer, but the team have sold several players already, including full-back Kyle Walker.
