Tottenham Plan Transfer Bid for American International Christian Pulisic

Tottenham are planning a transfer bid for 18-year-old American international Christian Pulisic. The 18-year-old is one of the top young stars in the German Bundesliga and is a regular with giants Borussia Dortmund.

Pulisic had been playing with the US national team until recently meeting up with Dortmund for their summer preseason tour of China. On Monday, Pulisic was instrumental in Dortmund’s 3-1 win over AC Milan. The American assisted two goals and drew a penalty in the friendly affair.

Spurs are in the hunt for Everton’s Ross Barkley, but the Toffees have so far held strong on the proposed sale of the player. Pulisic is being looked at as an alternative to Barkley and could fit into the Spurs’ side immediately. Last season, Pulisic scored five goals and assisted eight goals in 43 appearances. During the season, he was mostly used as a super sub, however, that could change this season if he remains with Dortmund.

Pulisic came through the Dortmund youth team, but spent just one year with under-17 team before being called up to the senior side in January 2016.

Pulisic was discovered by Dortmund scouts while playing for the US’s under-17 national team at the age of 15. His discover and rise through the Dortmund ranks should make many US clubs question how teams in the USA’s Major League Soccer missed out on him?

The 18-year-old is currently valued at £15.3 million. However, in the current transfer market climate and his age, he could go for double the figure.
