While the two clubs have agreed on the transfer deal, Keita may scupper the transfer due his desire to stay in Italy. According to reports from the peninsula, Balde is hoping to push through a deal to Juventus. However, the Italian champions have offered half of Tottenham’s transfer bid.

Keita has not participated in full Lazio training sessions as he tries to get the club to agree his move to Turin. It was reported that Keita handed in a medical note to Lazio staff on Tuesday to miss the team’s training session.

Keita was not involved in Lazio’s Serie A match at the weekend as the club drew nil-nil with recently promoted SPAL 2013. The winger came through the youth teams of Barcelona before joining Lazio in 2011 where he had varying degrees of success before having a break out season in 2016-17. Keita tallied 16 goals in Serie A.

Keita wants to join a team that will play Champions League football this term, and reports have indicated he would be open to a move to London. However, he is currently more interested in a move to Juventus.

Tottenham have recently agreed a transfer for Ajax’s Davinson Sanchez, and it looks like the club are just beginning their transfer spending spree as the window nears its end.

Keita Balde 2016-17 key stats:

  • 16 goals in 31 Serie A matches
  • 3 assists in 31 Serie A matches
  • 4 yellow cards in 31 Serie A matches
  • 2.3 shots per Serie A match
