The former Celtic flop moved to Parkhead from Dundee United for £2 million in 2015. However, the Turkish player is now spending his third loan spell away from the club.

The striker’s current club, Plymouth, were playing against Walsall in England’s League One, when the hilarious tweet was posted by the team’s social media manager.

Plymouth’s official Twitter account posted: “Ball over top, Ciftci could be in…ball hits him on the back of the head! So unlucky.”

Plymouth’s Twitter account went on to post another humorous tweet , this time about defender Yann Songo’o. The defender was beaten in the air by a much smaller opponent.

The tweet read: “Erhun Oztumer, possibly the smallest footballer I have ever seen, wins a 50/50 with Songo’o, then runs through and scores.”

Although Walsall won the fixture 2-1, the real winner of the fixture was Plymouth’s Twitter account.
