Celtic star being hunted by Premier League giants

Whilst Celtic endured a torrid Champions League night on Tuesday at the hands of Paris St Germain, who handed them their biggest ever home defeat, one player who did impress was Anthony Ralston, so much so that he is now the focus of several Premier League clubs.

Ralston, just 18, was given the not insignificant task of man marking £198 million superstar Neymar – and despite the worlds most expensive footballer getting on the scoresheet and PSG running out convincing 5-0 winners, Ralston played Neymar hard and showed no signs of fear, rattling the Brazilian so much that words were exchanged in game and Neymar refused to shake Ralston’s hand after the game.

Ralston arrived in the Celtic first team after coming through their youth system and was loaned out for a time to Queens Park. But it was Tuesday’s game where he announced himself to the world, so much so that he is now flashing brightly on several Premier League clubs radar – with West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton all showing keen interest – with the latter rumoured to be preparing a January transfer window move for the Scottish starlet.

Celtic have already tied Ralston down to a contract that sees him through to 2019, but they will face an uphill battle to keep him at the club should these Premier League big hitters make their move.
