Salah’s stunning contribution to yesterdays game took his tally to 28 Premier League goals on the season and, along with 11 assists, took his Fantasy Premier League points production to a staggering 266 points – not far short of 100 points more than any other player so far.

This form, along with his overall play and instant connection with the Liverpool favourite, has made him seem a shoe in for many an end of season honour. With Harry Kane injured, the Golden Boot is in his grasp, a place in the end of season Premier League team of the season would seem assured – but, quite amazingly, Salah is only SECOND favourite to win the PFA Player of the Season award, currently behind Manchester City’s Belgian playmaker Kevin de Bruyne.

Since the Premier League started, only Steven Gerrard (2008/09) and Luis Suarez (2013/14) have won the award wearing the Liverpool red, and should Salah collect the award, he would become the first African player to ever receive the title of PFA Player of the Year.

Many, even outside of Anfield, believe that Salah is more than deserving of the award. Whilst De Bruyne is enjoying a superb season its true, Salah’s form, record and impact on Liverpool is surely deserving of the accolade even at this time of the season, with just seven Premier League games remaining for Liverpool.
