Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is currently on loan at Spanish club Valencia. The Brazilian midfielder has had an inconsistent season with Valencia. At one time local journalists called his performances into question. Pereira has started just 12 times this season, and in his last 10 appearances, the midfielder has completed 90 minutes just twice.

Valencia are almost assured of Champions League football next term, and the club could approach Manchester United over a permanent deal. The final decision on whether Pereira stays with Valencia will be down to Mourinho, who must decide if the midfielder has a future at Old Trafford.

“The manager will see me in a different light if I come back from Valencia with a good report card,” Pereira told Sport/Foot in a recent interview.

“I’ll then change status more easily than if I continued to simply try and get a break as a homegrown talent.

“The Manchester United technical staff follow me closely. We speak on the phone regularly or we send each other messages on WhatsApp. I also communicate with Mourinho.

“I dreamed of playing for Manchester United, and I still do. I’m still under contract there. The staff now see that I can hold my spot at Valencia, that I’m at the required level.

“My future at Valencia depends on Manchester United. All the options remain open, but I don’t want to be loaned again. I’ve shown what I can do.

“‘This summer, I want clarity. I want to be able to stay at a club for two to three years in order to build something.”

Pereira joined Manchester United in 2012 as a teenager from PSV. In 2016, he was loaned to Spain’s Granada before moving to Valencia this term. The midfielder has recorded just one goal and three assists in 22 appearance. Ten of those matches saw Pereira come off the bench.

According to Pereira and his agent, Valencia want to sign him from Manchester United. The club has not confirmed nor denied this claim.
