5 Reds transfer targets in the works

1. Christian Pulisic

United States international and Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic has been high on Liverpool’s wish list for the last 12 months. Liverpool had a previous bid of £11 million rejected for the teenager.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is said to be a big fan of Pulisic and adding the winger to the Reds would offer more attacking options to the side.

According to the ECHO, Pulisic is not commenting on speculation that he is to join Liverpool this summer. Pulisic scored five goals in 42 Dortmund matches this season.

2. Alisson

Liverpool have been linked with Roma goalkeeper Alisson for several months now. During the Champions League semifinal, BTSports’ commentators even suggested that he would join Liverpool this summer.

According to the Independent, Roma have stated Alisson is not for sale this transfer window. After selling Mohamed Salah to Liverpool last year, it seems reasonable that Roma will want to keep their No. 1. Despite stating they are unwilling to sell, it doesn’t mean Roma won’t change their minds if Liverpool offer a large transfer fee.

3. Jan Oblak

Jan Oblak has an £87m release clause. Several teams are linked with the Atletico Madrid shot stopper including Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain. If Liverpool were to spend a large sum on one player this term, Oblak may well be the club’s best option. The goalkeeper kept 22 clean sheets in La Liga this season, the most of any goalkeeper.

Oblak is an overall better addition than Alisson. He is far more proven and Oblak is coming off of winning the Europa League final.

4. Gianluigi Donnarumma

Gianluigi Donnarumma has been billed as the future of AC Milan and the Italian national team. According to the Birmingham Mail, Liverpool have already offered £35m for the goalkeeper. Milan have stated they won’t sell for anything less than £70m, however. Of the three options, Donnarumma has the most question marks around him.

He is represented by Mino Raiola. The super agent has regularly antagonised Milan by lobbying for his client’s departure. In the summer of 2017, the goalkeeper angered Milan fans after attempting to push through a transfer by not signing a new contract. He later put pen to paper, however.

Of the three possible goalkeepers, Donnarumma should be passed on. He is only 19-years old and both Oblak and Alisson have experienced far bigger matches than the Milan goalie. Even a move for Genoa’s Mattia Perin would be a much better bet. The Genoa No. 1 is expected to sign with Juventus, but Liverpool should hijack that move.

5. Nabil Fekir

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has stated Liverpool have not contacted the club over a transfer for Nabil Fekir. Despite the president’s claims, reports continue to circulate that Liverpool are in negotiations to sign the talented attacking midfielder.

Aulas has said it will cost Liverpool a “sizeable transfer fee” to get the player. If Liverpool do land Fekir, it will be a transfer well worth the cash. Fekir scored 23 goals in 39 games for Lyon this term.
