Paul Pogba continues to shine for Manchester United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won his second game in the Manchester United dugout after taking over for the fired Jose Mourinho. Pogba’s two matches, and the entire squad’s performances, under Solskjaer, should be enough to convince even the most prominent Mourinho supporters it was the manager’s tactics and management that resulted in the team’s poor play.

Pogba had not scored double digits in FPL prior to gameweek 18 since the first match of the season against Leicester City. The midfielder had been benched for Manchester United’s two matches before playing Cardiff in week 18. He has now played a full 90 minutes both matches under Solskjaer.

The Frenchman is up to 76 FPL points this season and costs managers £7.9 million. That figure is sure to go up for gameweek 20 against Bournemouth.

Solskjaer was installed as manager at the perfect time. His first two matches were very winnable against two relegation-threatened teams. It has helped the manager steady the ship and get the players on side.

Pogba and company will face Bournemouth in gameweek 20. The Cherries have lost four of their last six games including Boxing Day’s match against Tottenham, 5-0.

Manchester United are now just four points off of a Champions League place thanks to Arsenal’s draw at Brighton. The Red Devils’ revival with Pogba starring should give FPL managers confidence in gameweek 20. Not only is Pogba playing well, but so are his teammates.

Can Paul Pogba repeat last season’s 138 FPL points? If he keeps playing the way he has recently, he should smash that figure. He is already one goal off last season’s end total.
