Manchester City vs. Arsenal – Cityzens’ Injuries

Pep Guardiola faces concerns over goalkeeper Ederson. The shot-stopper cut his knee during the team’s 2-1 loss to Newcastle and could be forced to the bench against Arsenal.

It is believed Ederson will be replaced by 20-year-old Swiss goalkeeper Aro Muric. The back-up goalkeeper hasn’t appeared in the Premier League this term but has played in five Carabao Cup matches.

Muric was unexpectedly recalled from a long-term loan at NAC Breda in the Eredivisie due to Claudio Bravo’s injury.

Manchester City vs. Arsenal – Gunners’ injuries

While Manchester City are worried over Ederson’s fitness, Arsenal have received a boost over the fitness of centre-back Laurent Koscielny.

The defender suffered an ugly kick to the head and face from Romelu Lukaku in their fourth-round FA Cup clash. Koscielny is available for selection for Sunday’s game after returning to training.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Ainsley Maitland-Niles could also be declared fit to face Manchester City.

Manchester City vs. Arsenal – Denis Suarez debut

Arsenal manager Unai Emery will have the opportunity to select January deadline day loan signing Denis Suarez to the team.

Suarez joined the Gunners from Barcelona and Emery hopes the playmaker can help Arsenal create goals.

The Spaniard only played eight times in all competitions for Barcelona scoring two goals and contributing no assists. Hopes are high he can bed-in quickly at the Emirates.

Manchester City vs. Arsenal: Last six matches

Arsenal have won just once against Manchester City in their last six games in all competitions. That win came back in 2017 in the FA Cup.

Manchester City have won four and draw one match with Arsenal in their last six games. The Cityzens have outscored Arsenal 14-5.
