Alexander-Arnold suffered a back injury which forced his withdrawal from Gareth Southgate’s England national team.

Meanwhile, Shaqiri is rehabilitating a groin injury. The problem was officially reported by Transfermarkt on March 18th. It typically takes six weeks for a full-blown groin injury to heal.

Klopp hopes Shaqiri can be called upon at Anfield. The Swiss midfielder hasn’t featured often for Liverpool since Christmas. However, Klopp could favour Shaqiri with league and European fixture congestion on the horizon.

Will Jurgen Klopp be able to call on Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita?

Jordan Henderson has recovered from the ankle injury that forced him off against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The Liverpool captain featured for England during the international break and showed no ill-effects of the injury.

Naby Keita has been in training at Melwood and could be in contention for a place in the side.

Sunday’s game against Tottenham is a must-win match for Liverpool. The Reds are in second place after Manchester City’s 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday.

Liverpool can return to the top of the Premier League with a win over Tottenham. A draw would keep Liverpool in second due to goal difference.

Tottenham have not won at Anfield since 2011. Spurs won 2-0 on that day thanks to goals from Rafael van der Vaart and Luka Modric. They have not won any of their last eight matches away to Liverpool.

Liverpool defeated Tottenham in their previous meeting this season, 2-1. Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino scored either side of halftime for the Reds. Tottenham pulled a goal back with an Erik Lamela 90th minute goal.
