Jurgen Klopp’s team must win to return to the top of the Premier League table on Sunday. The Liverpool manager will have nearly a full squad of Reds players available to choose from as they attempt to overturn Manchester City’s lead.

Which Reds players will miss Cardiff City match due to injury?

Dejan Lovren missed Liverpool’s midweek clash in the Champions League against FC Porto. The centre-back was sidelined due to the flu but is in line to make a return to the team on Sunday.

Klopp chose Lovren over centre-back Joel Matip last weekend against Chelsea. However, the centre-back didn’t travel to Porto due to the illness.

Midfielder Adam Lallana is also in line for a return to the Liverpool team. The often injured midfielder suffered a muscle injury recently, keeping him out of the Reds’ games.

Lallana has played just 16 times this season tallying zero goals and zero assists. The Englishman has been heavily criticised for his poor performances play fans.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez are two Reds players who could return to the team this weekend. Both have been out with long-term injuries and are nearing match fitness.

Klopp could choose to keep both players out of the team as Liverpool are in desperate need of a win. Liverpool and Klopp do not have the luxury of easing the duo back into the side with the stakes so high in the title race.

Which teams must Liverpool still play?

Liverpool have four matches left to play this season with a visit to Cardiff City on Sunday followed by a game against Huddersfield at home in a week’s time.

The Reds will close out the season with a visit to Newcastle prior to hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield to finish the season.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have a game in hand which they will play in midweek against Manchester United.
